Besides an astronomer I am also a photographer, with a particular interest in dragonflies. I wrote a coffee table style book, Dragonflies: Magnificent creatures of water, air, and land, which was published by Yale University Press in 2015. The book was discussed by The Washington Post, Wired, Smithsonian, and Scientific American, among others. CNN featured a time lapse video of a dragonfly metamorphosis that I made.

Books
I collect first editions and signed copies of the work of the late Dutch author Harry Mulisch. Mulisch' best-known books are The Assault (1982) and The Discovery of Heaven (1992). For those who are curious, The Guardian wrote a flattering retrospective on the occasion of his 80th birthday in 2007. Mulisch died in 2010.
